COURSE OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the Preventing Workplace Accidents & Promoting Health course. This course begins by examining slips, trips, and general hazard prevention, focusing on the basic requirements for preventing slips and trips, what to look for when identifying hazards that cause slips, how to stop floors from becoming wet or contaminated, how to manage contaminated floors, what to look for when identifying trip hazards, and the additional factors that can cause slip or trip accidents. This section explains how these seemingly small issues contribute significantly to preventable injuries and lost productivity when they are not addressed systematically.

The next learning area explores workplace fire safety, including the sources of ignition, fuel, and oxygen, why you must carry out a fire risk assessment, how to identify fire hazards, how to identify people at risk, and the precautions needed to protect people in the event of a fire. This section also covers how to review fire risk assessments to ensure they remain accurate and effective over time.
