COURSE OVERVIEW:
The 360-Degree Feedback is a review process where employees anonymously receive feedback from those who work with them. Known also by multi-rater feedback, multi-source feedback or multi-source assessment, it dates all the way back to WWII when the German military gathered information from multiple sources to evaluate performance. So, it’s definitely not a new age thing!!!
The process is quite inclusive in how it gathers feedback from both internal stakeholders (like peers and subordinates) and external stakeholders (like customers and subordinates) as raters along with conventional appraisals.
In most organisations, the core purpose of the 360-Degree Feedback process is to effectively drive development and help people recognise their strengths and weaknesses
The 360-degree feedback is best implemented only when done so according to an organisation’s individual needs and wishes. It has to be, first and foremost, endlessly customisable. There are several important parts to implementing an effective 360-degree feedback process, this course can help you dramatically increase the odds of a successful 360 initiative.
The first part of this course deals with implementing a 360-degree feedback process, including clarifying the need, checking to see that your organisation is ready, the differences between standardised and customised instruments, how to prepare participants and raters, and how to collect the data.
The second part describes how to facilitate the feedback, and deals with such issues as setting the context, working in one-on-one sessions, and dealing with issues of self and rater agreement.
