COURSE OVERVIEW:
In this course, we will explore the critical role of research in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of training and assessment practices within organisations.
Research serves as a cornerstone for informed decision-making and continuous improvement in training and assessment methodologies. Throughout this course, we will delve into various aspects of research, starting with identifying the purpose and rationale for conducting research, aligning with the current and future needs of the organisation in the realm of training and assessment.
Understanding the methodology and procedures for conducting research is essential for ensuring the validity and reliability of findings. You will learn to define activities, establish timelines, allocate resources, and anticipate expected outcomes in line with organisational practices. Furthermore, we will focus on developing criteria to evaluate the achievement of research outcomes and preparing budgets and timelines that adhere to organisational requirements and constraints.
Effective communication of research findings is paramount. You will discover how to present research proposals to relevant personnel for approval, manage and conduct research activities, and collect and record research data meticulously. Analysing data obtained from research and applying appropriate theories to the outcomes will enable you to make informed recommendations for the development and improvement of training and assessment practices.
Moreover, we will explore strategies for implementing research findings into practice, selecting logical and reasonable approaches, and preparing relevant documentation with academic referencing and citation protocols. You will be introduced to the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and intellectual property protocols to ensure ethical and responsible research practices.
Throughout this course, we will emphasise the importance of aligning research findings with organisational needs and presenting recommendations for action to key personnel for approval. Establishing criteria to monitor and evaluate new practices based on research recommendations will facilitate continuous improvement and innovation in training and assessment methodologies.
By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ethical considerations necessary to leverage research effectively in enhancing training and assessment practices, ultimately contributing to organisational success.
This course is designed to align with the content outlined in the Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency TAERES511.
