COURSE OVERVIEW:
Welcome to the Accelerated Learning Techniques course. This program has been designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to understand how people learn most effectively, how learning can be intentionally accelerated and how workplace learners can benefit from environments and methods that support deeper, faster and more engaging learning outcomes. You will explore accelerated learning principles, learning theories, learning styles, environmental factors, memory processes, instructional stages and practical techniques for applying accelerated learning in professional settings.
This course begins by defining accelerated learning and examining its importance. This learning area explains what accelerated learning is, what people need for an optimal learning environment, the guiding principles that underpin accelerated learning, the theory of the learning cycle, the four stages of learning, the theory of competence, the theory of multiple intelligences, the modes of learning theory and the theory of cognitive dissonance.
The next learning area explores learning as an experiential process. This section describes how to live each life experience with a learning attitude, how experiencing becomes the gateway to learning, how we create ourselves through learning and how the learning way involves awakening our internal learning life force. It also explains the importance of being a humble learner, how to discover your learning style, how to remember and use the learning cycle and how to transform experience into learning using the learning cycle.
Another learning area examines learning styles and personal learning patterns. This section identifies the relationship between learning style and life path, outlines the different types of learning styles and explores the experiencing, imagining, reflecting, analysing, thinking, deciding, acting, initiating and balancing learning styles, along with how each contributes to an individual’s natural learning process.
A further learning area focuses on cultural and systemic influences on learning. This section discusses how puritanism, individualism, the factory model of education, Western scientific thought, the separation of mind and body, left-brain predominance and the printing press all shape or limit learning effectiveness, and how shifts in mindset can enhance learning outcomes.
The next learning area addresses the instructional stages of accelerated learning. This section outlines the preparation stage of learning and how to develop interest, the presentation stage and how to promote a positive first encounter, the practice stage and suggestions for supporting integration and mastery, and the performance stage where learners apply their knowledge and skills. The profitability and value of accelerated learning and who it benefits are also explored.
Another learning area examines memory and learning techniques. This section explores the different types of memory, the steps to accelerate learning, the techniques used in accelerated learning, what is involved in the accelerated learning process and how technology supports—or sometimes limits—accelerated learning in modern educational and workplace contexts.
The final learning area focuses on workplace application.
