INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the Plan & Integrate Employability Skills Support into Training & Assessment course. This course only includes a challenge assessment designed to assess your knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence in identifying employability skill demands within training products, workplace contexts, learning processes and assessment tasks, and then integrating targeted employability skill support into vocational training and assessment while maintaining the integrity of vocational outcomes.

Planning and integrating employability skills support involves systematically interpreting current authorised Australian employability skill frameworks and translating those requirements into practical strategies that strengthen learner performance in real vocational contexts. Employability skills are not “extra” content; they are embedded expectations that influence how learners communicate, collaborate, solve problems, manage time, work safely, use technology, and respond to workplace standards. This work is important because many learners can meet technical task requirements but still struggle with employability expectations that determine whether they can perform consistently in the workplace and demonstrate competence under realistic conditions.

The course assessment focuses on your ability to identify employability skill demands across nationally recognised training products, workplace performance expectations, learning tasks and assessment processes, and then compare those demands with the employability skill levels of learners and candidates to determine gaps and prioritise support needs. You will be required to demonstrate how you interpret employability skill frameworks, analyse training product tasks, texts and evidence requirements, analyse workplace tasks and interactions, and analyse learning and assessment participation requirements to determine what employability skills are required for successful completion and competent performance.

This assessment will confirm your understanding of how to access and interpret information about learner and candidate employability skill levels within organisational procedures and role responsibilities, compare required employability skill demands against identified levels, and determine where gaps exist. It will also assess your ability to identify employability skill gaps beyond your scope and apply referral processes correctly in line with organisational procedures and regulatory requirements, ensuring that learners receive appropriate support without compromising assessment integrity or vocational expectations.

You will also be assessed on your capability to select and implement training and assessment strategies that explicitly integrate employability skill development into vocational tasks. This includes selecting strategies that address identified gaps while maintaining vocational outcomes, customising learning resources so employability skills are intentionally built into workplace-relevant learning tasks, integrating employability skill development into facilitation practices, and monitoring learner participation and progress to adjust facilitation approaches in response to engagement and skill development needs. The assessment will also examine your ability to determine assessment strategies that suit employability skill requirements and cohort characteristics while maintaining assessment validity, fairness and consistency, and to use learner and candidate feedback to evaluate how effective your employability skill support is in both training and assessment contexts.

By successfully completing this course assessment, you will have demonstrated that you can interpret and apply employability skill frameworks, identify employability skill demands across training products, workplaces, learning and assessment processes, compare demands to learner and candidate skill levels, determine and prioritise support needs, implement appropriate training, resource and facilitation strategies, apply suitable assessment strategies while maintaining validity and fairness, refer learners appropriately where needs exceed your role scope, and apply continuous improvement actions based on feedback and self-review—confirming your readiness to integrate employability skills support into vocational training and assessment practice.
