INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the Plan & Integrate Core Skills Support into Training & Assessment course. This course only includes a challenge assessment designed to assess your knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence in identifying core skill demands in training and assessment, comparing those demands to learner and candidate core skill results, and integrating targeted, compliant core skills support within vocational delivery and assessment while maintaining valid and fair outcomes.

Plan and integrate core skills support into training and assessment involves understanding how digital literacy, learning, reading, writing, oral communication, and numeracy are embedded within vocational tasks, learning activities, and assessment evidence requirements. It is important in workplace practice because core skills directly influence learner participation, evidence quality, assessment integrity, and overall training outcomes, and must be supported through structured strategies, appropriate resources, and compliant support and referral processes.

The course assessment focuses on your ability to interpret and apply authorised foundation skill frameworks, identify core skill demands across training product and workplace contexts, and make sound decisions about how to integrate support without compromising vocational outcomes. It evaluates how you interpret core skill results, prioritise support needs for individuals and cohorts, select and customise strategies and resources, apply appropriate assessment approaches, and document supports and decisions in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.

This assessment will confirm your understanding of how to interpret current authorised Australian foundation skill frameworks to analyse core skills and their performance features, and how to identify core skill demands in nationally recognised training products by analysing required tasks, texts, evidence expectations, and workplace standard of performance. It will also confirm your ability to identify core skill demands in workplace tasks and texts relevant to the training product, identify core skill demands in learning tasks and texts, and identify core skill demands in assessment tasks and texts including evidence formats, response conditions, and integrity requirements. In addition, it will confirm your capability to access and interpret learner and candidate core skill assessment results in line with organisational procedures and role responsibilities, compare core skill demands with learner and candidate results to determine gaps and prioritise support needs for individuals and cohorts, and identify core skill gaps beyond scope of role while implementing referral processes in line with regulatory requirements and organisational procedures.

You will also be assessed on your ability to select and customise training strategies that integrate vocational and core skill development within scope and aligned to legislative and regulatory requirements, and customise learning resources to explicitly address identified core skill gaps while maintaining alignment to vocational outcomes and training product requirements. The assessment will confirm your capability to integrate core skill support into training facilitation practices while monitoring learner participation and progress to adjust support strategies appropriately, determine and implement assessment strategies appropriate to core skill requirements and candidate cohort characteristics while maintaining assessment validity and fairness, and apply organisational procedures for identifying, providing, and documenting learner and candidate support including adjustments within scope and consistent communication of expectations. It will also assess how you seek and use learner and candidate feedback to evaluate effectiveness, and analyse your own performance to implement continuous improvement based on feedback, evidence of outcomes, the benefits of integrated support, and current population-level core skill trends including PIAAC summary outcomes.

By successfully completing this course assessment, you will have demonstrated that you can analyse core skill demands and results, integrate and document appropriate in-scope supports and resources, apply fair and valid assessment approaches, refer needs beyond scope appropriately, and continuously improve core skills integration practices in training and assessment.
